OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro Gets Android 11 Beta [Developer Preview]

Yesterday the Google has released the first beta version of the android 11 and as usual, it is available to the Pixel Devices first. As soon as the Android 11 beta released the tech giant like Xiaomi and Oppo also announced that their respective flagship device will get the beta version soon.

But today OnePlus has released the Android 11 beta version as a developer preview for OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro. This beta version contains a lot of features that came with android 11 like 5G connectivity, file sharing, advanced privacy options, and more.

OnePlus has already mentioned that this beta version id only for the developers and advanced users that want to test the beta release. For a daily driver, this is not worthy as it contains a lot of bugs. Also, you need to delete all the android data to install the beta update.

  6. Some apps may not function as expected.

How to Install Android 11 Beta on OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro

If you want to install an android 11 beta update on the Oneplus device then make sure that you have recommended storage and other necessity. Also, this android beta version is only meant to work on OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro so don’t try to install it on any other variant.

Note: Before installing the upgrade make sure that you have at least 3GB free storage available and your device is charged at least 30 percent.

Rollback from Developer Preview to Stable Version (Android 10)

If you don’t like the latest android 11 beta on OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro and want to rollback to the previous stable build then it will be a painful way. If your device is not bricked then you can use the same step which you performed to install android 11 beta.

Here are the step by step guide to rollback OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro to stable version. i.e Android 10.

Step 1: Download the stable android 10 build from the OnePlus community website,

Step 2: Transfer the downloaded ROM to phone storage.

Step 3: Go to Settings -> System -> System Updates -> Click top-right icon -> Local upgrade -> Click on the corresponding installation package -> Upgrade.

Step 4: Now wait until the upgrade completed to 100% and then restart the device.

Congrats your device has been successful rollback to the android 10 stable version. But if your device has been bricked out during the android 11 beta installation process. Then you need to flash the Android 10 stock ROM.

To do that install the latest version of TWRP recovery on OnePlus device and boot into the recovery mode using ADB sideload. By using ADB you can easily install an android 10 stock ROM to your device.
